In recent times, due to changes in our climate, we’ve seen more floods and an increase in flood occurrences. The Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, shared this insight with journalists, emphasizing that climate change is affecting Azerbaijan too.
He pointed out that earthquakes can strike unpredictably and occur frequently. Efforts are underway to reduce their impact. Following the 2000 earthquake in Azerbaijan, buildings were assessed for stability, and this assessment is an ongoing process.
